Majority Baptist Church|
Florence, SC

John Bowman Architects was retained by Majority Baptist Church to investigate the design for a new 500 seat sanctuary.  The new design is to be situated next to the existing church sanctuary that will be converted into a fellowship one when the new facility is complete.

JBA worked closely with the owner and building committee to develop a construction phasing plan, maximize existing property the church currently owns to accommodate parking, and develop a newer contemporary look for the church. The new facility will serve as a new landmark and anchor for the corner of N. Coit and W. Sumter Streets in Florence.  Materials used with the new design are composed of traditional brick to match existing, ground face block water table, and stucco accents.  Facing the front facade will be three large storefront windows that will be opaque to the new sanctuary allowing indirect light.  Splitting the middle store front window is a non traditional steeple element with a cross attached.
